SIF Member Session – Island community resilience

In the next of our series of online member sessions we will disucss the impact of the cost of living crisis as well as consider how the lessons learned from the COVID19 pandemic can support better community resilience and sustainable development going forward.

The Scottish Government commissioned Ipsos and Impact Hub Inverness to gather a series of case studies to explore examples of community resilience in islands, identify key learning points and recommend how community resilience could be strengthened.  You can read the report here and at the session we will hear from Ipsos and the Scottish Government Islands Team on the key points from the research and how these are being taken forward.

We are also delighted to have Broadford and Strath Community Company, which took part in the research, give an outline on some of the current challenges around cost of living, measures it is taking forward and what is needed to strengthen community resilience and development.

The session is planned for 2pm on Wednesday 15th February via Zoom.  If you would like to take part please get in touch – kirsty@scottish-islands-federation.co.uk
