Following a call to members for opinions and evidence regarding the Scottish Government’s Islands Connectivity Plan, SIF prepared a response to consultation questions with key points around ferry capacity, the need to feature all islands and lifeline transport services, freight and fares and the impact on cost of living, a call for changes to structure and governance, and once again, highlighting the need for equity for young islanders with the extension of the U22 free bus travel scheme to include free ferry passenger fares and free air travel where this is the main travel option.
