Make something good happen this Winter – Blue Social Growth

  • Do you have an enterprising idea for yourself, your business, your school or your community and need some help to take it forward?
  • Would you like to learn new skills and link up with others?
  • Are you based on a Scottish island or coastal community?
  • Or are you supporting refugees or migrants in Scotland?

If so, Blue Social Growth is for you!

The Scottish Islands Federation is a partner in the Blue Social Growth project, and over this Winter, is able to offer access to free enterprise training and support for up to 30 Scottish participants.

The training is online, supported by a handbook that you can download, and you can take part at your own pace. Modules cover ideas and potential opportunities to think about, as well as business planning, finance, marketing and networking, to help you set up your business and make it investment ready.

You will have optional access to mentoring support from our tutor, Thomas Fisher, and to link up with others on the course to share ideas and make new connections. Thomas is a member of SIF, a tutor for the Social Enterprise Academy and a founder of CoDeL in South Uist.

Blue Social Growth, funded through the Erasmus + Programme, is a partnership project between Scotland, Italy, Greece and Spain and aims to support enterprise and social enterprise on islands. The project is targeting potential and actual island/coastal entrepreneurs, but also refugee and migrant communities who often bring so much enterprising energy.

The course is open to those with an enterprising idea as well as those interested in learning more about leadership and mentoring to help others who will find the handbook and course materials very helpful.
