Applications
are welcome from groups or organisations planning events or projects
that will celebrate the islands.
Forms
and guidelines are attached, and are also available from the Scotland’s
Islands website –
www.scotlandsislands.com, along with further information.
There are two opportunities to apply – the first deadline is 12
November and the second is 14 February.
The
forms must be filled in and returned electronically, and emailed to
address given at the Western Isles central administration. There will be
a four-week turn-around for decisions on funding, and all Orkney
applications will be assessed by the local panel here.
If you
are planning a large-scale event, you may wish to consider applying for
flagship event funding. These events will most likely happen at the
beginning and end of the funded period (Spring 2011-Spring 2012).
Flagship events are not subject to the same deadlines as ordinary
projects and events, but will be assessed on an on-going basis
Please
note that applicants are encouraged to consider Awards for All, if your
project will cost between Ł500-Ł10,000 and also fits the guidelines for
Awards for All funding. Please check their website for details:
www.awardsforall.org.uk.
The
Scotland’s Islands pot can fund up to 100% of project costs, but match
funding is always encouraged and welcome. (Please note, however, that if
your project already has European funding, such as Leader, this will
make it ineligible for Scotland’s Islands funding.) |
