As can be seen from the minutes, the Scottish Islands Federation is 'alive and kicking' and preparing to action its original concept of supporting representation of the islands of Scotland at all levels.  Clearly, a lot of restructuring had to be done in parallel to getting down to the business of support and representation. 

Since its inaugural 2007 conference on Mull, the Scottish Islands Federation has been working towards securing core funding to deliver its objectives.

SIF is now being incorporated as a Limited Company by guarantee.

SIF is contributing to the establishment of a permanent ESIN secretariat hosted by the French “Association des Iles du Ponant”. ( link)

SIF is currently applying for funding to develop the website and employ a project officer and administrator.

SIF is looking at projects which will enable to draw European funding into the Federation and benefit all Scottish Islands.
